BMJN - Submission Requirements for Business and Management Journal of Nigeria Review
Authors submitting to BMJN must ensure compliance with the following guidelines, as incomplete submissions may be returned for revision.
Submission
Articles should be original and not under consideration by any other publication. All contributions should be submitted via Business and Management Journal of Nigeria (BMJN) eitor.ejbam@edouniversity.edu.ng Contributions should be submitted in English. If authors are not native English speakers, they should seek the help of an English editor for language editing prior to submission. Biographical information of up to 80 words should be included on the title page, indicating authors' institutional affiliation, phone number and email addresses. It is the duty of the author to obtain permission to reproduce any illustrations that may be subject to copyright, and sources should be indicated appropriately in the accompanying captions. All pages, including those containing only diagrams and tables, should be numbered consecutively. The use of figures (diagrams, charts, graphs) and tables should be kept to a minimum, with only essential data presented. Each should be numbered consecutively, titled, and mentioned in the main text. Tables must contain editable text. Mathematical formulations should be kept to a minimum. Equation editing programme should not be used for anything that can simply be typed on the keyboard in Word (such as d2 + x1 = y2).
Submission Checklist
- As part of the submission process, authors must check that their submissions comply with the following items. Submissions that do not adhere to these guidelines may be returned to authors.
- The submission has not been previously published, nor has it been before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
- The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
- Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
- The text is single-spaced, uses a 12-point font, employs italics rather than underlining (except with URL addresses), and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points rather than at the end.
- The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author's Guidelines.
Author Guidelines
- Editorial Standards: Articles must be original, and plagiarism is strictly prohibited. Authors are responsible for securing permissions for any copyrighted material and acknowledging third-party sources.
- Abstract: An abstract should not exceed 200 words with a brief introduction summarising the background of the work, research methods, results and its implications and recommendations. There should be five keywords immediately after the abstract.
- Word Limit: Articles should not exceed 7,000 words, including abstract, acknowledgements, and references. An accurate word count should be included.
- Publication Schedule: BMJN is published Quarterly in March, June, September and December, available online, whileHard Copies of the journal are printed on demand for a fee.
- Peer Review Process: All manuscripts undergo rigorous selection and double-blind peer review based on academic merit.
- Local authors are to pay N5,000.00 peer review fee into our account upon submission of their paper and N30,000.00 upon acceptance of the paper while foreign author(s) will be charged a handling fees of 100$ upon acceptance of paper for publication.
Technical Specifications
- Submissions must be in English (British English), A4 format, with 2.5 cm margins, 1.5 line spacing, Times New Roman, 12-point font.
- Include a separate author information page (title, name, affiliation, email, ORCID).
- Tables, figures, and illustrations should be correctly numbered and either embedded in text or attached separately, with placements indicated.
- Endnotes and footnotes are not permitted. Manuscripts should be professionally proofread, with no page numbers.
Headings
- Use three levels: MAIN HEADLINE, Headline, Sub-headline, flush left, without numbering or full stops. Headline length should not exceed ten words.
Citation and Referencing
Citation and References All cited works must reflect in the references except for works that do not appear in references such as personal communication. BMJN th adopts APA 7 edition. References should be typed on font size 11. Author(s) are advised to limit self-citation of previous studies in order to uphold the credibility of their paper.
